Military Loadout

Military Loadout - In this setup, only one MOLLE/PALS lanyard is used to support my radio, and the other side is a low profile lanyard. I leave the top Swiftclips attached in the front and this makes for the "smoothest" version of the vest I personally wear.

The best thing about the vest is that you can quickly change the supports as needed. I may receive a small percentage of sales from any product or service links on this site. You pay nothing extra and your purchase helps me bring you more awesome weapons and gear.

Equipment is selected based on lightness as a primary consideration and protection as a secondary consideration. This tool is designed for an attacker without special weapons or tools. This load will sustain the operator in moderate climates for 24 hours without supplies.

The Gear Selection

I also suggest no basic leg movements as that would require more equipment and especially water. My point is that this average Alice pack was often too full and too heavy. However, I still liked it and used it beyond my first deployment.

To be clear, this is an average package with a metal frame. After much research I found my answer in the Mayflower Low Profile Armor (with armor package). Brian reviewed the Armor System in 2009 which really helped with my final decision.

Another vest system that came very close to my needs was the Rogue Gunfighter LVR Vest. I didn't have a chance to see it in person and I didn't know who it belonged to, but it seemed like a good option.

I'll be sure to ask a few questions about Soft Armor since it seems to be a proprietary cut. Those who pay attention to the details will notice that much of the weight comes from the ammunition.

Total Gear Weight

Here I have assumed that we will have 6 magazines. This is one of the areas where there is no agreement. You must have ammunition! The most popular variant of the AR-15 is the carbine variant with a 16-inch barrel.

They are absolutely everywhere and seemingly standard. As the years progressed, nostalgia took hold and I gained a greater appreciation for the M16A4 and its full-length rifle design. One of my favorite features is the chisel grind used by Emerson.

If you're a knife snob, you won't like this because you're spoiled for choice. A chisel grind gives you a much rougher cut than the more standard V grind. As you can see, we go into great detail about the gear that a Tier One man wears, right down to his underwear and socks.

This gives us the total weight for all of this high-speed gear. I'll tell you up front that I have yet to wear level IV plates with a vest on the job, so I can't speak to its use in real life situations.

The Blue Force Gear Vickers Sling

I would say that if you plan on running plates full time, you should invest in some shoulder pads. The low profile design works well with soft armor, but adding the weight of the plates (in my case a heavy CPC level IV) would be really uncomfortable.

I have Mayflower shoulder pads on order for this very reason. I'm hoping the shoulder pads will also help with communication routing. The SAW was originally developed through an Army research and development effort and eventually developed through a joint NDO program in the late 1970s/early 1980s to recreate a durable and accurate automatic weapon for the firefighter and squad.

In the mid-1980s, the SAW was issued as one of the replacements for the "automatic rifle" (M16A1) designated for fire teams. The coolest thing about the Mayflower is how the plates are worn on the outside.

This reduces the time required to attach them to the vest. They can also be attached while putting on the vest if you have a friend to help you. I still use my Alice pack for hiking, camping, and now that I work in emergency management, I go to incidents and deployments.

Cqc Bw

The pack is insanely powerful and very well made. The main compartment is spacious and the three outer pockets give you plenty of space and organizational possibilities. The Vickers sling is still my favorite. I was one of the first groups to get the BFG sling in the hull and it quickly became an advantage over the old Blackhawk on the 3 points and single points we issued.

The Vickers Sling was designed by former Delta Force operator Larry Vickers and represents the value of experience. The M16A4 also has a KAC square rail and you will notice that the M16A4 does not. It only has a plastic hand guard.

This was a deliberate decision as the KAC railway was heavy, hard to find and expensive. I just don't need it or any square rail. After networking, I was convinced that Velocity Cut would meet my needs, and several friends I know told me that Velocity really cares about their customers, so I felt comfortable ordering online.

I first learned this when they sent the wrong vest, but they quickly resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I would not hesitate to order from Mayflower again. For vehicle operation, having a chest-mounted pistol is a viable platform.

Pouches And Misc Gear

If I have a pistol on my belt that can be lowered to a large front, it is best to remove the holster from the vest. I've also seen people use the G-Code RTI to attach medical kits and other things like magazine pouches like the HGSI Taco System.

Think you could attach different panels and different accessories, ultimate versatility! The CQC 7 is not a standard EDC style knife. It is designed as a compact, pocket-friendly weapon. Emerson's CQC 7 is designed to cut people who need cutting.

The Emerson CQC 7 has a hardened tanto point made from 154cm steel. This leaves us with two options for improving combat force survivability. Improve your fitness and lose weight by choosing your gear carefully. If you've been reading this site, you already know that we put a lot of emphasis on fitness.

I'm spoiling this a bit. I wore a CQC 7BW when I was a Marine but gave it to another Marine when I left. I regretted it and bought a new model and kept it to this day.

Alice Pack

The CQC 7BW is a direct descendant of the original CQC 6 folding tactical knife. Finally, I included a low profile pack from Haley Strategic that has the ability to fit more gear as needed. Click the link above for an in-depth overview of the package.

I'm 6'0" and float about 220 pounds. After a few emails about sizing, I decided on the medium size panels. I was happy to see that the speed panels were close to the panels on my custom PPE vest (see photo comparison.

) I've given up on some of the side overlaps I've been using, but overall I'm happy with the speed reduction. The back panel is a little wider at the top, which is nice and doesn't reduce mobility. Even though it's old and doesn't have MOLLE or any kind of mesh, it's solid

A reliable pack in the hump and for carrying gear. The metal frame gives you tremendous support and is a must. The great thing about the D3 is the ability to run my INCOG bag. Since most of your work is done from the car or outside, this is a huge advantage. We don't always have the luxury of

The Helmet System

Being able to prepare ahead of time and load my carry pistol directly into the D3 is nice.Like all these systems, it also saves time. S. I opted for minimal bags for the rest of the load.

Most of them are Blue Force Gear's excellent ten-speed gearboxes. They are very lightweight as they use heavy duty elastic bands to hold your magazines or other accessories. These bags have the added benefit of allowing you to store non-standard items as they can stretch to different sizes.

There is no need to apply wet stone polish to both sides of the blade, only one side needs to be sharpened to get the blade sharp. It is stable with Emerson CQC knives. Let's start with the armor, the Marines often use cry precision, cage plate carriers.

This plate carrier without plates will cost around $400. Marines can often be seen using a whole range of cry bags. The Marines previously used the Interceptor Multi-Threat Body Armor System, which had been in use since the early 2000s, but was not fully phased out until 2018, when the Marines replaced it with the Modular Tactical Vest (MTV) and scale plate carrier.

Final Thoughts

The biggest weight reduction here is thanks to the excellent Safariland Delta X helmet. This is the lightest helmet that still offers a 9mm gun and blast/fragment protection. It is almost 50% lighter than the equivalent OpsCore, or Team Wendy Helmet.

It is similar in shape to my M16A4. If the M16A4 is a Shelby Mustang, it's a 2007 V6 Mustang. Of course, it's not fully automatic, but it offers the same smooth shooting experience. Warning! The activities described on gearexploit.com may present a significant risk of personal injury or death.

When I joined the USMC we were given a terrible ILBE package. These bulky unwieldy packs were difficult to organize and were not a good frame for long marches. Through some magical powers, our battalion commander was able to secure us a metal-framed Alice bundle before our deployment.

S And S Precision Plate Carrier

I specified this SBR because it is a quality gun that comes in at only 5.8 lbs. However, when you add a Nightforce ATACR, a B.E Meyers MAWL laser, a Surefire light, and a Surefire suppressor, you end up with a 9.25-pound rifle that isn't exactly light.

An interesting study was recently conducted by Navy Captain Courtney Thompson at the Naval Postgraduate School. He ran computer simulations of Marine squads, with various loadouts, against insurgents with AK 47s, ammunition and other accessories. Nice article.

Another Woobie fan here. When I left the Army, I was saddened to have to return with my TA-50 gear. So I went to the nearest surplus store and bought one, the Navy pattern, which is better than the Army ACU pattern.

Another piece I loved (and still love) is the waffle shirt. Living in Texas, I don't get many opportunities to wear them, but I always have them on hand. I also like your choice in knives.

What Is The Typical Loadout Of A Us Marine?

Emerson has been in my pocket since 2011. If you want something with more "belly", check out Commander. This is one area where you definitely don't want to gain weight if you can avoid it. Adding ounces to the head really puts strain on the neck and will tire it out much faster than adding them anywhere else on the body.
